It seems this show has brought the 2007 law that meant Dublin City Council could cease any dogs from the Restricted Breeds list.

The ones that live on their estates or in their houses obviously.

In 2007, these dogs were banned from all DCC houses/estates

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

With the TV3 show bringing so much attention on the subject, this was law was brought to the surface.

I remember hearing about this before I even knew what a Pitbull was lol!

lol not far off about 12 or 13 people, some that are here on the board and thats how i met them, chriz, caro and 1 or 2 more i think, but we got what we went there for, sad thing was that people that owned their own home thought they didn't need to or that it wouldn't effect them, "wrong" the minute they walk out their door and onto the path way its DCC owned.

Now i can own as many pits as i like when i like and im breaking no law.

when DCC first tried to introduce it what they didn't do like many other country's is think it threw, they went on the bandwagon and put out a press release stating from July 2007 all restricted breeds would be ban from DCC houses and estates, but what was pointed out to them was that they couldn't change the terms of an existing contract unless the tenant agreed to it, well i wasn't going to agree so they couldn't change it because im a tenant since 1994. But what they went and did now was any tenant that goes into a council house after 2007 will have a new contract stating they cant have a restricted breed, again i tried to fight this but no1 would stand up. What people dont realize is that these bans are not only about dogs its an infringement on your human wrights, discrimination at its highest.
